20-Year-Old Shot In Claymont Late Saturday

Claymont – Yesterday, June 1, at approximately 09:20 p.m. officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Fourth Ave, in the community of Clearfield, for a report of a shooting.

Authorities said when the officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the lower body.

The victim was transported to a local area hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived on scene and have assumed the investigation. This is an active and ongoing investigation. More information will be forthcoming.
