Passenger Sustained Life-Threatening Injuries In Cecil County Crash On Sunday

Elkton, Md. – On Sunday, July 21, 2019, prior to noon, troopers from the North East Barrack responded to the area of Elkton Road (MD 279) and Airport Road in Elkton for a reported two-vehicle crash, according to authorities.

The initial investigation revealed a silver Nissan Altima, was traveling northbound on Elkton Road when it collided into the rear of a silver Chevrolet Malibu, at the intersection of Airport Road.

The front passenger of the Chevrolet sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in Delaware. All the other occupants involved sustained non-life threatening injuries, police said.

The Maryland State Highway Administration responded to assist with the road closure during the investigation, and an MSP crash reconstruction responded to the scene to assume the investigation. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this crash.

The names of those involved are being withheld at this time pending proper notifications.
