Officials Say Monday Morning Building Fire Was An Accident

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office has determined that this morning’s building fire in Wilmington was accidental.

Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal Robert Fox said the Holloway Terrace Fire Company was alerted to a fire in the 500 block of Terminal Ave., in the Eden Park Gardens neighborhood, shortly after 6:30 AM. Fire apparatus arrived with Smoke and fire coming from a garage located on the property. Surrounding Fire Departments were called to assist.

Investigators from the State Fire Marshal’s Office were called to the scene to conduct an investigation. Investigators determined that the fire originated when a worker using a cutting tool ignited surrounding combustibles damaging the building.

The fire caused an estimated $10,000 in damages.

No one was injured in the fire.
