Police: Tire Slashing Suspect Found With Large Dagger, $7K In Cash, Released On Unsecured Bail

Newark – On September 9, 2019, at approximately 7:00 in the morning Newark Police Officers responded to the area of West Galloway Court in the Abbotsford Development for reports of a white male dressed in dark clothing slashing vehicle tires, according to police records.

Prior to arrival, officers were advised that the suspect was leaving the area in a blue Honda CRV. The vehicle was located, and a traffic stop was initiated.

The driver was detained and a show-up was conducted. The driver was identified as the subject the witness saw slashing the vehicle tires.

At the time of the arrest, the driver was in possession of a large dagger, drugs, and over $7000.00 in cash.

Upon further investigation, a search warrant was obtained for the suspect’s residence. Additional prescription pills, including oxycodone, were found along with a large tank of nitrous oxide, according to the records. The suspect was charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon, multiple drug-related charges, and criminal mischief.

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court #2 and was later released on unsecured bail.
