Dover Police Looking For Clown That Robbed Home Store

The Dover Police Department is seeking the identity of a robbery suspect from an incident at Kirkland’s home store on Tuesday night, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said at approximately 8:59 PM, officers responded to Kirkland’s, located at 1033 N. DuPont Highway, for an armed robbery.

Officers learned that prior to the robbery, store employees found an unknown black male suspect in the stockroom. The suspect was escorted out by store employees at that time. The suspect then returned wearing a clown mask and had his hand in a bag as if he were armed an demanded cash from the employees. The employees complied and the suspect then locked the employees in a back room and told them to wait fifteen minutes before contacting police. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.
