Wilmington Police Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Accident

Wilmington Police (WPD) is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian that took place Sunday evening, according to spokesman David Karas.

Karas said on October 13 at approximately 7:15 p.m., police were dispatched to the 500 block of South Walnut Street in reference to a motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Officers found the pedestrian, a 26-year-old man, at the scene. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The vehicle remained at the scene.

This incident remains under investigation by the WPD Traffic Unit.
