Woman Injured In House Fire Saturday Morning

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating this morning’s house fire near Bridgeville that injured one person.

At around 5:30 this morning, Saturday, November 23, 2019, firefighters from the Bridgeville, Farmington, Greenwood, and Seaford fire Companies along with emergency medical services, including Sussex County Paramedics responded to the 5400 block of Ray Road near Dublin Hill Road for reports of a  structure fire with an injury.

Upon their arrival crews reported fire showing from the home and one patient was suffering from serious smoke inhalation.

Shortly after crews began working the fire, Command reported that the fire would be an exterior attack.

Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio said that the victim was transported to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford. The 60-year-old woman was listed in stable condition.

Deputy state fire marshals are currently on the scene conducting the scene examination, said Chionchio.  Heavy fire damage was estimated at $50,000.
