Fire Marshals Release Details Of Christmas Day House Fire

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is currently investigating Christmas Day house fire in Wilmington, according to Chief Deputy Robert Fox Delaware State Fire Marshal.

Fox said the Elsmere Fire Company was alerted to a fire in the 1300 block of Clifford Road, in the neighborhood of Oak Hill shortly after 6:30 pm last evening. Upon the arrival of the fire department, crews found heavy fire and smoke coming from the residence. Several additional fire companies were also called to assist at the fire scene.

Deputies from the State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to conduct an investigation. This origin and cause are currently under investigation. Anyone with information about this incident can call The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office at 302-323-5375.

No one was reported injured in the fire. The fire caused approximately $20,000 in damages.
