Happening Now: Crews Responding To Major Crash, Two Trapped

Hockessin – Rescue crews are responding to Lancaster Pike in the area of Hercules Road for reports of a high-speed crash involving multiple vehicles.

While en route crews are being told that one vehicle has gone over a guardrail.

First arriving crews are confirming one vehicle off the roadway.

Cranston Heights Command has requested additional crews to the scene. One person is reported trapped under a vehicle and the second is trapped inside a vehicle.

Troopers are reporting icy roads and bridges in the area,

Avoid the area. Lancaster Pike is shut down.

Trooper 4 is three minutes out and will be utilized for transport.

Update: Both patients have been extricated. One patient is being loaded into Trooper 4.

Update: The roadway is likely to be shut down for an extended period of time. We’ll update that shortly.

Update: Second patient en route via ground.

Troopers have now released the following statement:

“TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Lancaster Pike in the area of Hercules Rd. is closed due to a motor vehicle crash.”
