Firefighters Battle Garage Fire Near Dover Monday Night

Dover – At around 8:40 on Monday evening firefighters from Magnolia, Little Creek, Leipsic, Camden Wyoming, and Dover AFB responded to the 1200 block of Kitts Hummock Road, south of Dover, for a residential structure fire.

While en route crews learned that a detached garage was on fire and that gasoline and welding equipment was inside.

As crews arrived on scene they reported a fully envolved two-story garage fire.

Command immediately asked for water tankers to assist in an exterior/defensive attack on the 50′ x 40′ garage fire.

Crews were able to the fire under control after about a half an hour. They remained on scene for about an hour and forty-five minutes mopping up hotspots.

No injuries were reported.

Investigators with the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene and are investigating.
