Happening Now: Man Has Fallen Into A Well, Rescue Crews, Helo En Route

Marydel – Just before 1:30 this afternoon rescue crews from the Marydel and Hartly Fire Companies, along with the Kent County Special Operations Rescue Team and Trooper 4, out of New Castle County were dispatched to the 600 block of Sandy Bend Road for reports that an adult is trapped after falling into a well.

We are monitoring the rescue and will report additional details as they become available.

Update: Just before 2:15 crews reported that man had been freed from the well and was en route to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital via Trooper 4. Initial reports from the scene indicate that the patient fell headfirst into the well.
