Troopers Update Double Fatal Shooting In Bowers Beach

Frederica- The Delaware State Police are currently conducting a death investigation in which two subjects were found deceased in a parking lot.

The investigation began on February 22, 2020 at approximately 4:04 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the parking lot area off of Cooper Avenue, Bowers Beach, Frederica.  Upon arrival, two subjects were located deceased.

Callers also reported a vehicle fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed and gave dispatchers a description of the vehicle. A vehicle matching that description was stopped, however, police have not released details surrounding that stop. We will update what we have once the police issue an official statement.

The investigation is in its early stages with further information being released as it becomes available.

Breaking Report

Frederica – At around 4:00 this afternoon the Delaware State Police and local rescue crews began receiving multiple calls for a shooting  at a home on Cooper Avenue.

As Troopers responded to the scene they learned that possibly two people were shot.

Callers also reported a vehicle fleeing the scene at a high rate of speed and gave dispatchers a description of the vehicle.

Crews on scene are reporting that a large group is gathering around the home. Local fire police have responded to the scene and have blocked of the entire area.

This is a developing story.
