Cecil County Garage Fire Destroys Several Vehicles Thursday Morning

Port Deposit, Md. – The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a structure fire that destroyed or damaged several vehicles Thursday morning.

Just after 3:00 firefighters from the Water Witch Volunteer Fire Company responded to the 200 block of Theodore Road for reports of a garage fire.

Upon arrival, crews found a 30′ 36′, three-bay garage with a 12′ x 36 addition to the rear on fire.

Officials have estimated the loss of the structure and its contents at $100,000.  (2) motorcycles and (3) four-wheelers were inside the garage and are considered a total loss. (2) Chevy trucks and a 1968 Plymouth Barracuda sustained smoke and heat damage only.

The fire, discovered by a passerby, was brought under control after about 30 minutes according to officials.
