Police: Man Airlifted After Domestic-Related Shooting, One In Custody

The New Castle County Division of Police is investigating a shooting that occurred this afternoon, according to authorities.

Officials said earlier today, at approximately 12:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to North Huckleberry Ave, in the community of Waterford Trailer Park, for a report of a domestic-related shooting. When the officers arrived, they found a 35-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower torso. He was transported to a local area hospital for treatment via Delaware State Police helicopter.

Officers took one person into custody and detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have assumed the investigation.

Breaking Report

Bear – At approximately 12:30 this afternoon rescue crews from the Christian Fire Company, along with New Castle County Paramedics, County Police and Trooper 4 responded to the 700 block of North Huckleberry Avenue in the Waterford Trailer Park for reports of a shooting.

At this point, we do not have much information on the incident. Early reports indicate that a male subject has been shot and has been transported to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital.
