Troopers Identify Skeletal Remains Found In Wooded Area

Selbyville – The Delaware State Police have released the name of the victim who was located in a wooded area off of Polybranch Road earlier this month.

Officials said the victim has been identified by the Delaware Division of Forensic Science as David T. Hickey, 36, of Laurel.

The cause and manner of death remains under investigation by the Delaware Division of Forensic Science. Police said the death does not appear to be suspicious in nature.

In October of last year, Troopers issued a Gold Alert for Hickey who was last seen on September 29, 2019.

Hickey’s remains were found earlier this month on Monday, March 2, 2020 when police and rescue crews were called to a wooded area along Polybranch Road just north of Roxana Road for a medical call.

The remains were later turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy was performed.
