Troopers: Suspect Threatens To Shoot Steak House Employee, Runs Off With Food

Newark- The Delaware State Police are investigating a robbery that occurred in the parking lot of Outback Steak House last evening, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Heather Pepper.

Pepper said the incident occurred on March 26, 2020, at approximately 8:06 p.m., in the Outback Steak House parking lot located at 27 Possum Park Mall, Newark. Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with the victim who is an employee of Outback. The employee advised that he brought a curbside pick-up order out of the restaurant to deliver to the suspect. When payment was requested, the suspect threatened to shoot him but did not display a weapon before taking the food and fleeing on foot towards Melrose Place Apartments without paying, said Pepper. The victim did not sustain injury as a result of this incident.

The victim described the suspect as a black male, between the ages of 45-50 and approximately 6’00” tall. The suspect was wearing dark-colored clothing.
