Police: Woman Assaulted During Home Invasion Saturday

Ellendale– The Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion that took place at an Ellendale area residence early Saturday morning, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Heather Pepper.

Pepper said the incident occurred at approximately 12:23 a.m., Saturday, May 23, 2020, at a residence located on Lorraine Lane, New Market Village, Ellendale. An unknown number of suspects made entry into the home and assaulted a 30-year-old woman, according to police. After the assault, the suspects fled the residence, and the victim was able to hide in a secured room and call for help. The suspects did not appear to have taken anything from the residence or cause any damage. The victim declined medical treatment.

This investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Detective K. Wideman of the Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit by calling 302-752-3832.
