Just In: State Homicide Unit On Scene Sunday Conducting Death Investigation

Georgetown– The Delaware State Police are currently conducting a death investigation that occurred early this morning, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Heather Pepper.

Pepper said the preliminary investigation began this morning, Sunday, June 14, 2020, when troopers were dispatched to a residence in the 28000 block of Johnson Road in Georgetown.

The Delaware State Police and the Delaware Division of Forensic Science are working in conjunction to determine the manner and cause of death. The identity of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of the next of kin.

The investigation into this incident by the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is in its early stages. There are no traffic or public safety concerns related to this incident. Further information will be released as it becomes available.
