Troopers Charge Franklin Man With Strangulation, Burglary

Seaford- The Delaware State Police have arrested 26-year-old Alfred Wescott of Frankford on felony domestic-related charges, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Heather Pepper.

Pepper said on June 10, 2020, at approximately 12:37 a.m., Troopers were dispatched to the 27000 block of Hollyhock Lane, Seaford, for a physical domestic. Through the investigation, Troopers learned Wescott’s ex-girlfriend, a 26-year-old female victim was asleep in her residence with her two children and another 19-year female family member when there was a loud noise at the kitchen door. Upon investigation, the victim observed Wescott had broken into the residence and was now inside, according to Pepper. The victim attempted to call 911, but Wescott slapped the phone out of her hands, preventing her from calling the police, said Pepper. The victim then ran back into the bedroom, at which point Wescott grabbed her by the neck and resulting in her not being able to breathe. Wescott then fled the area before police arrived.

On June 12, 2020, Wescott turned himself into Troop 5 and charged with the following crimes:

Burglary 2ND Degree (felony)
Strangulation (felony)
