Police: Three Attacked, Two Hospitalized By Violent Group In Newark, Can You ID This Truck?

Just after 10:00 Friday evening two males and a female were walking on Haines Street in the area of Continental Avenue. At that time, a dark-colored Ford F350 pick-up truck pulled up to the victims. More than six suspects exited the truck and began to assault the victims, according to Lt Andrew Rubin. The two male victims suffered facial and other injuries and one was knocked unconscious at the scene. Both males, who were conscious upon police arrival, were transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The female victim was also struck in the face but refused medical treatment.

The suspects were described as at least six, and possibly up to twelve, males in their late teens or early twenties. There is no known motive for this incident. No property was taken from any victim and no weapons were involved.

Surveillance video depicts the suspect vehicle, which has silver rims and a Tonneau bed cover, traveling on both East Main Street and East Delaware Avenue prior to the assault. The vehicle fled southbound on South Chapel Street following the assault.
