Rider Airlifted After Thursday Motorcycle Crash In Newark

At approximately 4:00 Thursday afternoon, New Castle County Paramedics, Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder Company and Delaware State Police helicopter were dispatched to the intersection of Old Baltimore Pike and Iron Hill Road for a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle, according to Paramedic Corporal Yvonne Russell.

Russell said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found the motorcyclist, a 62-year-old-male, in care of emergency medical technicians. The patient was removed from the motorcycle and suffered injuries to his chest, leg, and ankle. The patient was treated on scene by all responding personnel and transported to Christiana Hospital via Delaware State Police helicopter in care of Delaware State Police paramedics. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.
