Just after 8:00 this morning Dover Police, St. Francis Ambulance, Kent County Medics, and the Dover Fire Department responded to Route 13 at Scarborough Road for reports of a motor vehicle accident with injuries.
While en route to the scene crews learned that at least one occupant was trapped in the vehicle. At 8:27 am one patient was extricated from the vehicle and Command placed the incident under control. The patient is currently being transported to an area hospital.
DelDOT traffic cameras show a vehicle with heavy backend damage and a large debris field. near a tractor-trailer. It’s not clear if the tractor-trailer is the striking vehicle.
Crews have closed the southbound lanes of Route 13 just north of the accident.
