Route 1 Rollover Crashes Keep Rescue Crews Busy Tuesday Night

Rescue crews responded to back-to-back rollover crashes late Tuesday.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Delaware City Fire Company, Port Penn Fire Company, Odessa Fire Company, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to Route 1 Southbound in the area of the Roth Bridge for a motor vehicle collision with a vehicle rolled over.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found a 31-year-old female who was treated for a possible head injury and facial injuries, according to NCCEMS Assistant PIO Emily Mallon.
She was transported to Christiana Hospital via Odessa Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics, in stable condition.

Twenty-five minutes later, at approximately 9:55 p.m., New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Townsend Fire Company, Port Penn Fire Company, Odessa Fire Company, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to Route 1 Northbound in the area of Chestnut Lane for a motor vehicle collision with a vehicle rolled over.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found an approximately 30-year-old woman who was treated for a possible head injury on scene, said Mallon.

The woman was transported to Christiana Hospital via Delaware State Police Aviation in stable condition.

Delaware State Police is investigating both crashes.
