Two Hospitalized, One In Critical After Sunday Afternoon Crash

At approximately 2:00 pm, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Mill Creek Fire Company, Hockessin Fire Company, and Belvedere Fire Company were dispatched to the intersection of Route 7 and Stanton Christiana Road for a motor vehicle collision with reported entrapment, according to NCCEMD Spokesman Assistant PIO Oliver Kocher.

Kocher said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found one patient, a 64-year-old male,  heavily trapped and suffering from injuries to his head and torso.

He was in the care of Hockessin Fire Company EMTs. The patient required rapid extrication. He was treated on scene and transported to Christiana Hospital by ground via Hockessin Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. He was in critical condition at the time of transport.

An additional patient with minor injuries was treated and transported to Christiana Hospital by Mill Creek Fire Company Ambulance.

Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.
