Crews Free Trapped Woman After I-95 Crash Wednesday

At approximately 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Claymont Fire Company, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to Interstate 95 in the area of the Harvey Road overpass for reports of a vehicle off the roadway, according to NCCEMS Assistant PIO Emily Mallon.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found a single patient. A 41-year-old female was trapped in the vehicle for approximately 10 minutes and had to be extricated by fire department personnel. She was treated for possible head and back injuries. She was transported to Christiana Hospital via Claymont Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics, in stable condition.

Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.
