Police Release Details In Dover Shooting On Thursday

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 23-year-old with a gunshot wound to the leg on Thursday.

Public Information Office Sergeant Mark Hoffman said officers responded to the area of South Kirkwood Street for a report of shots fired and observed shell casings in the area. An occupied home was struck as well. While on scene, a 28-year-old male arrived at Bayhealth Kent Campus Emergency Room with a gunshot wound to the leg and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous.
