Middle School Students Told To Stay Home After Vandals Damage School

Kirk Middle students were told to stay home after vandals damaged the school over the weekend.

A notice put out by the schools says the school will be closed today, however, we’re told the school was closed on Monday as well.

“Kirk Middle School Administrators were notified that a group of unidentified youths entered the school building over the weekend and damaged some areas of the school. We are working with the State Police Department to resolve this matter which requires a proper investigation.

The building will be closed to students on Tuesday, May 10; however, student assignments will be posted via Schoology. Teachers and staff will report to the building during regular hours on Tuesday. We will provide additional updates as they become available.

The custodial and maintenance staff are working to restore the areas of the campus that were damaged. The District and Police Department wants to ensure that you receive the correct information and that we take incidents such as these very seriously.
