Police: Woman Assaulted At Gunpoint During New Castle Home Invasion

On Monday, September 12, 2022, at approximately 5:57 PM officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the 500 block of South DuPont Highway – Pine Valley Apartments in reference to a robbery investigation, according to Corporal Michael McNasby.

McNasby said officers arrived and contacted the 51-year-old female victim. The victim reported she was inside her apartment when her door was forced open by an unknown male suspect who was armed with a firearm. The victim stated that the male suspect then physically assaulted her and removed an undisclosed amount of cash from her residence prior to fleeing from the scene said McNasby.

The victim was transported by ambulance to Christiana Hospital in reference to injuries sustained during the assault and was later released.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
