Burglary Suspect Out On Unsecured Bail Sought Again By Police

Newark Police are looking for a burglary suspect that was out on unsecured bail.

On February 6, 2023, at about 1000 hours, Newark Police responded to Roots Natural Kitchen, 129 East Main Street, for a report of a burglary.  Staff at the restaurant advised that a male suspect entered the rear of the business through an unlocked door, removed cash from the office and fled the area. 

Employees were working inside the business at the time of the burglary, but the restaurant was not yet open to the public.  No one was injured during the incident.

Detectives identified the suspect as Lawrence Bracy 4th, 26, of Wilmington after a review of surveillance video.  Detectives were familiar with Bracy as he had just been arrested the day before for burglary.  Bracy was wearing the same clothing at the time of this incident and during his prior arrest said police.

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Bracy for Burglary Third Degree and related offenses.

Previous Arrest

On February 4, 2023, Lawrence Bracy 4th, who had been sought by Newark Police, was taken into custody by Wilmington Police pursuant to an active arrest warrant for this incident.

Bracy was transported to Newark Police headquarters where he was charged with:

  • Burglary Second Degree
  • Forgery Second Degree
  • Theft Under $1500

Bracy appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #2 by video and was released on $13,000 unsecured bail.
