Box Truck Vs SUV Ends With Rollover, One To Hospital

The Delaware State Police is investigating an accident that sent a 44-year-old man to the hospital Monday.

At approximately 1:12 p.m. the New Castle County Paramedics were requested to respond to the 1000 block of Samoset Drive in Newark for the report of a motor vehicle collision with rollover according to S/Sergeant Abigail Haas.

Haas said upon arrival of the New Castle County Paramedics, a two-vehicle collision was located between a box truck and an SUV, with the SUV on its roof, and the operator trapped inside.

Firefighters from the Christiana Fire Company freed the man in less than 10 minutes. He was evaluated by the Paramedics for possible extremity injuries and was transported to the Christiana Hospital in Stanton, in stable condition.
