Police: 14-Year-Old Arrested In Stolen Car After Chase

The Wilmington Police Department has arrested a wanted male juvenile and recovered a stolen motor vehicle.

Officials said during their routine patrol on October 19, at approximately 9:46 a.m., officers noticed a stolen motor vehicle n the 2700 block of Northeast Boulevard. In response to this discovery, officers attempted to conduct a vehicle stop. However, the driver of the stolen vehicle fled from the officers, prompting a brief pursuit.

A short time later, the authorities were able to locate the stolen vehicle in the area of 24th and Thatcher Streets and took a 14-year-old male juvenile into custody.

The 14-year-old male juvenile has been charged with multiple traffic violations in addition to his outstanding warrants. Following his arrest, he was presented before the Justice of the Peace Court 11 for arraignment. Subsequently, he was committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center.
