Two Displaced In Sunday Morning House Fire

On March 3, 2024, at 10:22 am, the Wilmington Fire Department responded to 1229 Lobdell Street in the city’s Southbridge Section for a report of a residential structure fire. First arriving Engine 2 reported smoke showing from the 2nd floor of a 2-story, wood frame residence.

Wilmington firefighters located a fire in a 2nd floor bedroom and quickly extinguished the fire, holding the fire to the bedroom. The remainder of the dwelling suffered smoke and heat damage. The fire was placed under control in approximately 15 minutes.

There were no fire department or civilian injuries. The American Red Cross was requested to assist the two
occupants with emergency housing.
