County Police Investigating Shooting In Avalon

New Castle County Police are conducting an investigation into a shooting incident that reportedly occurred at a residence in the 3300 block of Wilson Street, just south of Prices Corner.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening at approximately 10:48. Emergency crews from the Cranston Heights Fire Company, along with New Castle County Paramedics, were dispatched following reports of a cardiac arrest at the location. Upon arrival, responders discovered a man in his 30s who had reportedly been shot.

Initial reports from the scene indicate the man was shot in the upper torso. He was subsequently transported to a trauma center in critical condition via Cranston Heights Ambulance with New Castle County Paramedics accompanying.

In a statement released early Monday morning at 4:11, the New Castle County Division of Police provided additional details. The police confirmed that their officers are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which took place within the Avalon neighborhood. They assured the community that there is no ongoing threat to public safety related to this event.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police.
