The New Castle County Division of Police is currently investigating a shooting that occurred at the Taylortown Shopping Center on Songsmith Drive, in Newark.
Officials said on Friday, just after 10:00 in the morning, patrol officers responded to the Taylortown Shopping Center for a reported shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located a 29-year-old male who had been shot. The victim was transported to a local area hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Unit and the Evidence Detection Unit have responded to the scene to assume the investigation.
