Troopers, Local Businesses Respond To Assist Fallen Trooper’s Family

Louise Cummings, wife of Fallen Delaware State Trooper Stephen Ballard, shared her heartfelt gratitude after experiencing a touching act of kindness that brought unexpected relief and joy on Friday. She described the collective effort as not only a much-needed holiday blessing but also a deeply meaningful birthday gift.

The situation arose following last week’s powerful storm, which caused significant damage to her yard. A neighbor’s tree was uprooted during the storm, crashing down and damaging the fence surrounding Cummings’ yard. In addition to the broken fence, the fallen tree left behind debris.

Despite the daunting task, help arrived in the form of a dedicated team of community members and professionals who stepped up to assist. Cummings extended her sincere thanks to John Landoll of LSG Fencing, who’s crew made repairs to her damaged fence, and Jeremy Casey of Diamond State Tree Service, whose team worked to clear the massive tree and the debris that had scattered across her yard.

Cummings also expressed her deep appreciation for the Delaware State Police Troopers who joined the effort, showcasing their continued support for her family.
