Man Charged In Wednesday Stabbing Attack

Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on Wednesday.

Officials said on March 26, at approximately 8:41 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 2700 block of North Washington Street, in reference to a stabbing incident.

Upon arrival, police located a 26-year-old male victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition. Initial reports from the scene indicated that the victim was stabbed multiple times about his body.

As police were investigating, officers located a suspect in that block and took 58-year-old Alvin Woods into custody without incident.

Woods has been charged with Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony and Assault (Second Degree).

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was released on $22,500 unsecured bail.
