The Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred Thursday night in Harrington.
On March 12, 2026, at approximately 7:05 p.m., a Nissan Pathfinder was traveling eastbound on Carpenters Bridge Road east of Jackson Ditch Road.
The preliminary investigation showed that the Pathfinder failed to negotiate a slight curve, ran off the north side of the roadway, and struck a tree.
The driver, 27-year-old Elizabeth Draper, of Frederica, was taken to an area hospital, where she died.
The roadway was closed for approximately three hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
