Four Injured in Rollover Crash Wednesday

Emergency crews responded Wednesday afternoon to a serious motor vehicle collision in Townsend that left four people injured, two of them in serious condition. The crash occurred at approximately 2:09 p.m. in the 4200 block of Dupont Parkway and involved a small SUV and a sedan.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found both vehicles had sustained significant damage, with the sedan appearing to have rolled over. A total of four individuals were injured in the crash and subsequently transported to Christiana Hospital in Stanton.

The driver of the sedan, a 21-year-old female, was treated at the scene for suspected head, spinal, and extremity injuries. Due to the severity of her condition, she was airlifted to the hospital by Delaware State Police Aviation’s Trooper 4. A 20-year-old female passenger from the same vehicle was also seriously injured, suffering possible spinal and internal injuries, and was transported by ground in serious condition.

The two occupants of the SUV were evaluated on scene and transported by basic life support ambulance in stable condition.

The Delaware State Police is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
