Stabbing At New Castle Warehouse Leads To School Lockdown

New Castle, DE – A large police and emergency response unfolded late Thursday morning after reports of a stabbing at the Delaware a warehouse in New Castle. The incident prompted a precautionary lockdown at Wilbur Elementary School while authorities searched for a suspect.

Shortly before 11:00 a.m. police and rescue crews were dispatch to 2421 Bear Corbitt Road for reports of a stabbing at that location. Responding units quickly located the victim and began providing treatment. Initial reports indicate that the victim was stabbed multiple times.

As police arrived on scene, reports indicated a possible suspect fleeing the area on foot. Delaware State Police aviation unit Trooper 4 and a K-9 Officer were called in to assist with the search.

During the search, Wilbur Elementary School, located near the scene, was secured on the advice of Delaware State Police. The Colonial School District confirmed that students and staff remained safe inside the building and that there was no direct threat to the school. Families were asked not to report to the school until further notice.

By early afternoon, police activity in the area had scaled back, though patrol units continued to monitor surrounding neighborhoods sources tell FSU.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the suspect has been taken into custody. The investigation remains ongoing, and further updates are expected from the Delaware State Police.
