Delaware State Police have charged two suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred at a Newark motel earlier this month.
According to investigators, 21-year-old Wah’kee Tabron of Newark and a 16-year-old male from Wilmington were identified as the suspects involved in the October 15, 2025, robbery at Motel 6, located at 100 McIntosh Plaza.
Authorities said the incident took place shortly after 11:00 p.m. when a woman met a man she had connected with online. Moments later, another man approached armed with a handgun. The suspects reportedly demanded money and personal property before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.
Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for both suspects. On October 24, Tabron, who was already being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution, was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and remained in custody on a $32,000 secured bond.
That same day, the 16-year-old suspect, already detained at the Department of Services for Children, Youth & Their Families, was charged with the same offenses. He was arraigned by the New Castle County Family Court and held on a $15,000 cash bond.
Both suspects remain in custody as the Delaware State Police continue their investigation.
