Motorcycle Rider Crashes In Rising Sun, Flown To Shock Trauma

Rising Sun, MD – Maryland State Police are on scene investigating a motorcycle crash that lead to one being flown to Shock Trauma in Baltimore.

The accident occurred abound 6:30 pm on Sunday May 28, 2017 at the intersection of Route 273 and Route 276 just west of Rising Sun, near the new roundabout.

Maryland State Police Aviation took off at 7:06 p.m. headed to the hospital with the patient in an unknown condition.

Other riders were on scene but it was unclear if they were riding with the crash victim.

Thousands of motorcyclists from all across the country were in the D.C. area for today’s Rolling Thunder motorcycle ride but its not clear if these riders were returning from that event.

A light drizzle was falling in the area at the time of the crash.
