Just In: Car Slides Down Hill, Man Pinned Between It And Building In Newark

Newark – Just after 7:00 this evening officer with the Newark Police Department, along with crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder and New Castle County Paramedics responded to the unit block of Ray Street for reports of that a  vehicle had crushed a person.

Responding crews were alerted that as a male’s car began to slide down the hill and he tried to stop it. As the car slide down the hill, with the man in front of it, the car struck a shed in the backyard, pinning the man between the car and the building for an undetermined amount of time.

Upon arrival, crews learned that the male had extricated himself. Ambulance crews and medics treated him at the scene. He was then transported to Christiana Hospital with a trauma alert.

The car slide approximately 30 yards down the hill badly damaging the shed.  It’s difficult to make out in the image.
