Newark’s West Chestnut Hill Road To Close Monday, Reopens August 16

WHEN: 7:00 a.m. on August 5, 2019 until 5:00 p.m. on August 16, 2019, pending weather.

WHERE: West Chestnut Hill Road closed (Bridge over Tributary of Christina Creek) between Route 896 and Otts Chapel Road, south of Newark.

WHAT: DelDOT’s contractor, Eastern Highway Specialists will be repairing the bridge deck.

Detour Routes:

Route 896/South College Avenue southbound to Welsh Tract Road to Otts Chapel Road northbound and return to Chestnut Hill Road.

Route 896/College Avenue northbound onto Welsh Tract Road to Otts Chapel Road northbound and back to Chestnut Hill Road.

Southbound Otts Chapel Road to Welsh Tract Road to northbound Route 896/College Avenue to Chestnut Hill Road.

Northbound Otts Chapel Road to Welsh Tract Road to Route 896/College Avenue northbound to Chestnut Hill Road.

Chestnut Hill Road westbound onto Welsh Tract Road to Otts Chapel Road to Chestnut Hill Road.

Chestnut Hill Road eastbound to Otts Chapel Road southbound onto Welsh Tract Road to Northbound Route 896/College Avenue to Chestnut Hill Road.

Detour signage will be posted for motorists.

Local access will be maintained for residents and emergency vehicles.
