Just In: Two Pedestrians Struck In Newark Thursday Morning, Route 4 Closed

Newark – Just after 7:00 Thursday morning rescue crews from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder along with New Castle County Paramedics and State Police responded to E Chestnut Hill Road (Route 4) at Old Newark Road for reports of a pedestrian struck.

While en route crews learned that two pedestrians were struck. Initial reports indicate that a woman suffered injuries to the body and a male suffered a head injury. Both patients were alert at the scene.

Route 4 was closed for about an hour while Delaware State Police investigated the accident.
