Just after 10:00 Tuesday morning the New Jersey Department of Transportation alerted motorists that the Clara Barton Service Station in Carneys Point was closed due to police activity.
FSU has learned that businesses in the area have been told that there is a “hostage situation” in a vehicle at the location. The businesses have been told to shelter in place according to sources familiar with the incident.

Police have not confirmed the standoff reports or released details regarding police activity.
