Just before 1:00 Wednesday morning rescue crews from the Mill Creek Fire Company along with New Castle County Paramedics responded to Kirkwood Highway for a motor vehicle accident with entrapment.
While en route crews learned that a New Castle County Police officer was involved in the accident.
Sources familiar with the accident tell FSU that the officer was involved in a head-on-collision. Two patients were transported to Christiana Hospital.
Initial reports from the scene indicate that one person involved in the accident died as a result of the accident. Police have not confirmed those details
County Police issued the following statement “New Castle County Division of Police, Tracfic Services Unit is investigating a motor vehicle collision in the area of Kirkwood Highway and Limestone Road. The road is currently closed, find an alternative route.”
