Man Takes Out Trash Returns To Find A Burglar In His Home, Shots Fired

Dover – The Dover Police Department is investigating an early morning burglary where a 28-year-old victim was shot at, according to Public Information Officer M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman.

Hoffman said that the incident occurred at 8:29 am at the Pine Grove Apartments, on Webbs Lane in Dover, as the male victim exited his apartment to take out the trash and left his apartment door unsecured.

When he returned, he observed a male suspect in the hallway. The suspect fired a single shot at the victim who fled into the kitchen. The suspect fled from the apartment on foot.

No injuries resulted from the incident. The suspect was described as being a black male, approximately 6’0″ tall, medium complexion, with a hooded sweatshirt pulled over his head.
