Wilmington Police are conducting an investigation following a fatal shooting incident that occurred early this morning. Police said at approximately 1:07 a.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 900 block of Lombard Street.
Upon arrival, the officers located a 49-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts to save him, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear as the investigation is ongoing. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim and are urging anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.
