Brazen Daytime Robbery Reported At Newark Store

Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Sunday morning at a convenience store in Newark.

Authorities said the incident was reported at approximately 8:15 a.m. on May 3, 2026, when troopers were dispatched to the Shore Stop on Old Baltimore Pike for a robbery complaint. According to the preliminary investigation, an unknown suspect wearing a mask and armed with a knife entered the store and approached the clerk before demanding money from the register.

Police said the clerk complied with the demand, and the suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

The investigation remains ongoing by the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit.
