Officer Involved Shooting In Wilmington, Exclusive Photos

Wilmington – New Castle County Police are currently on scene investigating an officer involved shooting in the area of Philadelphia Pike and Washington Street extension.

Wilmington Today shortly after 2:00 PM, police were following a suspect in a separate investigation. Police attempted to stop the suspect, but suspect refused to stop. The suspect fled in his vehicle and crashed in the area of Philadelphia Pike and Washington Street extension. The suspect fled on foot and officers gave chase in an attempt to apprehend him. A confrontation ensued resulting in the suspect being shot and killed by police.

Involved officers were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.
